Joe Burrow had a cold, one-word reaction after a question about Bengals teammate Evan McPherson on the back of a disappointing outing at the SoFi Stadium on Sunday night.
McPherson is being blamed for costing Cincinnati a win, having missed a pair of crucial field goal attempts after the team stormed back to tie the scores following a significant deficit.
The Chargers looked like they would breeze their way to a win in the first half, going into halftime with a 24-6 lead at halftime, but allowed 21 unanswered points in the second half. The Bengals eventually brought the scores level and had opportunities to take the lead; however, McPherson drew blank with two shocking misses.
Asked what he would say to his teammate after the missed attempts, Burrow replied, “Nothing.”

Joe Burrow Nearly Won The Game With A Hail Mary
The Chargers’ defense contained the Bengals just enough to hold on for the win. Of course, McPherson’s misses helped, but the unit made some key plays down the stretch.
Quarterback Justin Herbert would lead L.A. on a clutch drive with less than a minute on the clock and 84 yards to make up. It ended in a 29-yard touchdown run by J.K. Dobbins, which left 18 seconds for Cincy to come up with a score.
Burrow gave the Chargers a scare, nearly completing a Hail Mary throw on the final play of the game. Tee Higgins got both hands on the ball, but Los Angeles defensive back Derwin James knocked it loose before the wide receiver could corral it for a touchdown.
The 34-27 loss dropped the Bengals to 4-7 for the season, despite Burrow playing at MVP level.
