Nick Wright predicts that Tyreek Hill will eventually find his way back to the Chiefs

Kansas City Chiefs fans have certainly been paying attention to what’s been happening with Tyreek Hill and the Miami Dolphins over the past few days. First, Hill reportedly “quit” on the Dolphins in the fourth quarter of their game against the Jets, most likely after the team knew the Chiefs’ backups and third-stringers weren’t putting up much of a fight against Denver.
Second, after the game, Hill pretty much said that he’s ready to leave Miami. He noted that this is the first time he’s missed the playoffs and that he’s “too much of a competitor to be just out there”. He later photoshopped a picture of himself onto Antonio Brown in the infamous game where Brown quit on the Buccaneers.
Yeah, it feels like Hill and the Dolphins’ honeymoon period is long over. With that being the case, it wouldn’t be shocking if Miami traded Hill in the offseason and while some Chiefs fans might get their hopes up that it could be Kansas City landing the former Chiefs star, Nick Wright predicted that they might have to wait a little bit for that to happen.
“[The Dolphins are] gonna get a second or a third-round pick for Tyreek Hill, maybe from the Chargers, more likely an NFC team like the Cowboys or the Commanders…and that team will release him and in 2026 he’ll be a Chief again.”
Nick Wright thinks Tyreek Hill will be a Chief again in 2026
Hill got his start with the Chiefs after the organization spent a fifth-round pick on him in the 2016 NFL Draft. He became a superstar in the Chiefs’ offense and helped them reach the playoffs in all six of his K.C. seasons.
In 2022, the Chiefs traded Hill to Miami where they ended up with a massive draft haul. That draft haul allowed them to select Trent McDuffie and also move around in the 2023 draft to nab Rashee Rice, a player who, until he was injured this year, looked to be Patrick Mahomes’ next great weapon.
While Chiefs fans might like the idea of Hill returning to Kansas City, this is a player who openly quit on his team. The Chiefs are a well-oiled machine and have managed to win two Super Bowls without Hill so re-adding him to the offense might not be all that necessary.
Hill also is coming off his worst year since 2019 when he missed four games. He didn’t miss any games this year, though the Dolphins were without Tua Tagovailoa for six games, which definitely impacted Hill and the other offensive weapons.
That being said, by the time Wright’s prediction were to happen, Hill would be 32 years old and further on the downswing of his career. Do the Chiefs really want a bad teammate and one who’s no longer in the prime of his career? That’s something they’ll need to ask themselves.
