Tim McGraw and Faith Hill are full-time empty nesters now that all of their daughters have moved out and that means more time to devote to their marriage and getting themselves in shape, a source exclusively tells Closer.

“With the kids living on their own, Tim and Faith are able to shed their inhibitions and walk around the house half naked if they want, not that they do that all the time!”

The country music super couple first met at a gig in Nashville, Tennessee, in 1994, during a Country Radio Seminar showcase for up-and-coming talent. Their romance would take some time to launch, though, as the “Highway Don’t Care” singer, 57, was in a relationship with Kristine Donahue at the time, and Faith, 57, was engaged to Scott Hendricks.

Impressed with his future-wife’s musical ability, Faith became the opener for Tim’s Spontaneous Combustion tour in 1996, which is when they really connected. The “It Matters to Me” singer even told People she had ditched her fiancée for her new man, saying, “I wasn’t about to let Tim slip through my hands.”

They wed in October of that year after a public courtship which saw Tim even propose to Faith on stage. They would go on to have three daughters: Gracie, 27, Maggie, 26, and Audrey, 22.

With all of their children fully grown and out of the house, the source says, they can now finally “turn their attention to themselves.”

“They’re doing stuff together and planning cozy trips for two,” the insider adds. “They’re making a real concerted effort to jazz themselves up. For Tim, that means spray tanning and manscaping rituals. For Faith, it means an edgier look.”

While the two have been touring together for nearly 30 years, the source adds that their relationship hasn’t always been ideal. “They’ve had some ups and downs,” the insider spills, “but they’re in a good place now and back in the honeymoon stage.”

In fact, Tim even credited his wife of 18 years with driving him to sobriety, telling Men’s Health in 2014 that his decision to quit booze in 2007 really depended on Faith giving it to him plain. “When your wife tells you it’s gone too far, that’s a big wake-up call,” the “My Best Friend” singer said. “That, and realizing you’re gonna lose everything you have.”

The country icon has been singing his wife’s praises for nearly the entire time they’ve been together, writing, “Our girls could not have a better role model in their lives as how to be an incredibly strong woman. And how to believe in themselves and be in charge of their lives (every aspect of their lives),” in a post celebrating Faith’s 57th birthday in September.

With their newfound time and space, the source adds that their workouts and self-care routines are really “boosting their self-esteem and bringing back the sizzle.”

With the insider adding, “Sometimes they act like a couple of newlyweds and it’s fun to see them enjoying this stage in their lives.”
