Boxing legend Mike Tyson’s wife, Lakiha “Kiki” Spicer, has decided that her days in the ring are over. Tyson, known for his legendary career and strong comebacks, now appears to be facing his final retirement, with Spicer’s unwavering support by his side.
According to Tyson’s son Amir, Spicer has been a central force in Tyson’s life and does not support him in his future boxing adventures. Amir revealed to The Sun : “My wife says he’s done, they’re a team. These are husband and wife things.”
Spicer’s decision came after Tyson’s controversial fight against YouTuber Jake Paul, in which the former heavyweight champion struggled to maintain his balance in the late rounds. Although the fight ended in a decision loss to Tyson, many believed Paul helped the 57-year-old legend avoid a knockout.
After the Jake Paul fight, Tyson’s performance in the November fight raised questions about his ability to continue competing. After the fight, Jake Paul said, “I didn’t want to hurt someone who didn’t need to be hurt.” However, Tyson seemed less certain about his retirement and hinted at a possible fight against Paul’s brother, Logan.
“I don’t know if I’m going to fight again,” Tyson said in a post-fight interview. “It depends.” Logan quickly responded, challenging Tyson: “I’m going to kill you, Mike.” “Then let’s do it,” Tyson replied.
Despite the banter between them, Amir Tyson suggested that his father would likely not listen to outside advice, even if it came from his family. “He’s an independent man,” Amir said. “If I tell him too much, he’ll tell me to shut up.”
The fallout from Tyson’s last fight hasn’t been easy. Lawsuits against the organizers, Netflix and the boxers themselves have kept Tyson’s name in the headlines.
Spicer is holding his own and Tyson has struggled in the ring recently, and it appears the former champion’s gloves are about to hang up for good. Spicer’s influence, coupled with Tyson’s age and the physical toll he’s taken throughout his career, could spell the end of one of the most exciting careers in boxing history.
As fans await official confirmation, one thing is for sure: Tyson’s journey from boxing legend to cultural icon has left an indelible mark. Whether or not he decides to return to boxing, “the biggest man on the planet” remains a larger-than-life figure.
