Russell Westbrook, who joined the Denver Nuggets in July 2024, was recently criticized by former American football safety Ryan Clark. Clark believes Westbrook is a fantastic player but disappoints at crucial moments. However, Westbrook recently responded to the criticism with a forceful three-word statement

Westbrook recently posted a video on his Instagram account of him practicing for the upcoming season. In the caption of his post, the all-time triple-double leader wrote, “Slowly but surely,” and added the hashtag “Why Not,” clearly indicating his intention to clinch the title next season.

Basketball fans became excited to see Westbrook’s dedication and started praising him in the comment section of a fan’s “Beastbrook” post on X (formerly Twitter). One fan said, “he’s winning a ring next year.”

Meanwhile, another fan mentioned, “Definitely we coming for that ring let’s go goatbrook.”

A fan mentioned that the star player of the Nuggets, Nikola Jokic, previously suggested adding Westbrook to the team, “Jokic himself said “I want Westbrook” and got him LoL they about to do some DAMAGE!!.”

Another fan explained, “Russ who will finally be able to play with the ball again he must be so excited last time he put 16 15 15.”

Christian Braun Hails Russell Westbrook as Next Season Approaches

Westbrook’s performance has declined since his dominant 2016-17 season with the Oklahoma City Thunder, during which he averaged 31.6 points, 10.7 rebounds, and 10.4 assists in 81 games. However, fans are hoping for a better performance from him in the upcoming season as he will be joining three-time NBA MVP Jokic.

Westbrook, who won the NBA MVP award in 2017, was recently praised by his teammates on the Nuggets before even playing a single game with the team. During a recent interview with The Denver Post, Christian Braun mentioned that he loved the game of the nine-time NBA All-Star when he was young.

“His energy, his tenacity—those are things every team needs. He plays with the right intensity, always going downhill, being aggressive, and playing tough. I know he’ll bring a lot of positive things to our team. He’s someone who brings hunger and excitement to the game.” Braun said.

The next season will start soon, and Westbrook will play against the Boston Celtics, the 2023-24 NBA Champions, in the first preseason game.
