Goalies continue to stir conversation within the Montreal Canadiens organization.

In the past few minutes, Martin St. Louis caused a surprise by turning away from Samuel Montembeault and opting to send Cayden Primeau into the fray against the Washington Capitals tonight.

Indeed, the door seems open for a major shift in the Canadiens’ goaltending hierarchy.

Speaking of changes in the Canadiens’ goaltending hierarchy, many of you are eager to see Jakub Dobes with the big club, but unfortunately, that will have to wait.

Injury for Jakub Dobes

Dobes, who has had an incredible start to the season with the Laval Rocket and whom some are calling for as reinforcement in Montreal, has unfortunately just sustained an injury.

The injury comes at a bad time for Dobes but doesn’t seem too serious (though it’s the kind of injury that could linger).

More details will follow.

As a result, the Laval Rocket announced a personnel move to temporarily replace Dobes, with Connor Hughes now serving as Pascal Vincent’s starting goaltender.

Jakub Dobes, 23, is a 6-foot-5 goalie with a 4-0-0 record this season in Laval, a goals-against average of 2.25, and a save percentage of .910.

His name is definitely one to watch closely for Montreal Canadiens fans, as he might get his chance during the season if Samuel Montembeault and Cayden Primeau don’t deliver.
