The Spider-Man and Jason Bourne stars are set to lead the Dark Knight director’s next outing.

Tom Holland is officially set to star alongside Matt Damon in Christopher Nolan‘s next mega project.

According to Variety, the Spider-Man star is in talks to join Matt Damon in the next untitled film from the Inception director.

Fresh off the success of Oppenheimer, which won multiple Oscars, Nolan is now working on a mysterious project with Universal Pictures.

The project, set for a July 2026 release, will mark Nolan’s third film with Damon, following 2014’s Interstellar and 2023’s Oppenheimer.

On the other hand,  it will be Nolan’s first team-up with Holland, whose Spider-Man trilogy has grossed $3.9 billion worldwide.

While the details of the film are still under wraps, it’s likely to be set either in the past, similar to his previous film Oppenheimer, or in the future such as Interstellar.

The upcoming film will be co-produced by Nolan and his wife Emma Thomas under their banner Syncopy Inc., in partnership with Universal Pictures.

It comes after Nolan split with Warner Bros in the wake of nearly two decades of partnership, a process said to have begun when the studio moved away from an exclusive theatrical distribution model during Covid.

Holland, fresh off of a stage run of Romeo and Juliet in London’s West End, is also due to swing back into theatres as Spider-Man in the fourth instalment of the franchise, to be directed by Destin Daniel Cretton.

Christopher Nolan’s next untitled movie is set to hit theatres on July 17, 2026.
