Lee Greenwood and Donald Trump have been in the Bible selling business together for a while now, so maybe the news that they are slinging “special edition” Bibles ahead of Monday’s inauguration should not have surprised anyone.

But it’s easy to understand, too, how some folks might have been a bit offput by the country music singer taking his time on FOX News’ “America Reports” on Sunday to make a special pitch for a Bible that costs $69.99 when some say they can’t currently afford the price of eggs.

Greenwood, who has seen a resurgence in popularity through Trump’s campaign due to the President-elect’s use of his song, “God Bless the U.S.A,” showed off what he said was a limited-edition copy of the good book which features Trump’s name and “47th” president printed at the top along with the January 20, 2025 date.

“When Donald Trump puts his hand on the bible and swears and oath to take care of the country, and he is the 47th president of the United States, I’m hoping it will be this bible, which is released tomorrow as a tribute to Donald Trump, the 47th president,” Greenwood said.

“There are only going to be 5,000 of these,” he added. “I know he is going to take the oath by putting his hand on several bibles. He might do this one as well.”

Aaron Rupar shared the clip from Fox on X and wrote, “Blasphemous grifting – Lee Greenwood says Trump may take the oath of office on a new limited edition Trump bible that is going to be released tomorrow.”

“Lee Greenwood should be so embarrassed, but he seems full of excitement,” another responded. “What is going on in the background is nothing short of a version of a Trump/rally carnival.”

“Profiting off the Bible,” another wrote. “Shameful.”

There were plenty more responses like that, and you can see those along with Rupar’s post of the video here.

USA Today said Trump officially endorsed the Bible in March 2024. The site said that the President-elect has reportedly received $300,000 in royalties from the sale of the Bible.

The $69.99 inauguration edition was listed as “sold out” already on Greenwood’s site, but there’s good news in that there are plenty of other options for those looking to get in the market.

Want a Bible signed by Trump? If you have $1,000 you can get one.

Want a special “platinum edition?” That goes for $99.99.

Of course, if you just want a Bible without Trump’s name attached to it, you can get one on Amazon for around $4.
