The Montreal Canadiens just took a subtle jab at the Minnesota Wild’s General Manager Bill Guerin, who is also, of course, the decision-maker for Team USA.
As you know, Guerin snubbed Caufield in his selection for Team USA, and he recently explained his decision.
Well, in the past few hours, a post from the Montreal Canadiens quickly set the web ablaze.
Here it is:
A jab from the Montreal Canadiens at the American decision-makers who ignored Cole Caufield
We love it.
It’s tasteful, especially since Nick Suzuki recently addressed the topic in a press conference.
It’s truly unfortunate, especially since Caufield probably could not have done any more at the start of this season to deserve a spot on Team USA alongside all his best friends.
Cole Caufield, 23 years old, is a 5-foot-8, 175-pound forward.
This season, sporting his brand-new number 13, he has accumulated 16 goals in 25 games (23 points in total) and is increasingly becoming a truly complete player in the National Hockey League.
It will be interesting to see his response to this rejection on the ice as he tries to make Bill Guerin and his colleagues regret their decision.
If there’s ever an injury, is Caufield on the «short list» of replacements?
We hope so, especially since he’s already mentioned how important it is to him, though it seems he’s no longer holding out much hope.
