New York Jets quarterback Aaron Rodgers believes that his team has a so-called “snitching” problem, amid a disastrous 2024 season in Gotham.
Aaron Rodgers and the Jets entered the 2024 season with sky-high expectations after he missed all but a few snaps in 2023 with a torn Achilles. Fast forward to Week 13, however, and it’s been by far the most disappointing season in franchise history.
The Jets fired head coach Robert Saleh and GM Joe Douglas in a span of six weeks. The team’s blockbuster trade for Las Vegas Raiders All-Pro wideout Davante Adams (Rodgers’ former teammate) has done nothing to fix the offense.
There have been multiple bombshell reports about Rodgers and the Jets’ dysfunction. Among them: Owner Woody Johnson wanted Rodgers benched earlier this season, and that the four-time MVP has no desire to return to the Jets in 2025.
When asked by reporters if the Jets have a “leaking” issue within the organization, Aaron Rodgers delivered a simple three-word response.
“100 percent yes,” he said, per SNY’s Connor Hughes.
Rodgers told reporters earlier this week that he would like to play for the Jets in 2025. Of course, only the future Hall of Famer knows deep down if that’s the truth. If it’s not, well, Rodgers isn’t going to outright admit that.
The 3-8 Jets will try to get back in the win column when they host the NFC West-leading Seattle Seahawks at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.
Aaron Rodgers & Jets Should Break Up After This Season
Rodgers deserves some blame for the Jets’ struggles, but the soon-to-be 41-year-old is also a key reason why this team isn’t winless. Rodgers has completed 63.8 percent of his pass attempts for 2,442 yards, 17 touchdowns and only seven interceptions.
The ex-Green Bay Packer can still play, but it’s obvious that this is never going to work on a dysfunctional Jets team. Rodgers’ best bet is to go to a contending team that could use a QB upgrade, such as the Seattle Seahawks or Pittsburgh Steelers.
