Joe Burrow participated fully in his most recent practice, but fans are still concerned about his health after Week One.
One piece of video from Sunday’s loss to the New England Patriots shows the Cincinnati Bengals quarterback is dealing with issues from his surgically repaired wrist.
Burrow could be seen rotating his wrist on the field and grabbing it while on the bench. He even struggled to pick up a water bottle off the ground, putting only two fingers on it before eventually gripping it.
Many were looking at Joe Burrow possibly having MVP numbers this season, entering the healthiest he’s been since his rookie season.
His year started off with him completing 21 of 29 passes for 164 yards, per his stats on ESPN. He certainly didn’t look like the guy Bengals fans have known so well over the years.
Last year, Burrow had 2,309 passing yards with 15 touchdown passes and six interceptions.
Cincinnati Bengals Quarterback Joe Burrow Responds To Questions About His Surgically Repaired Wrist
Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow has made it an uncomfortable tradition to start the regular season on the wrong foot.
Burrow looked antsy at times in the pocket, likely because he didn’t want to get hit and have to brace his fall with his surgically repaired wrist.
Following a loss to the Patriots, during which he was seen messing with his wrist, reporters wanted to know about his injury and how it might havemight’ve impacted him on any types of throws in the 16-10 loss.
Burrow side-stepped the question and gave credit to the Patriots: “They were doing a good job keeping everything in front,” Burrow said. “I’ve got to take what the defense gives me.”
