Tiger Woods’s Daughter Sam Updates: Is Soccer Still a Dream of Her? Amid Brother Charlie’s Snub, Explored
Golf’s royalty has a soccer sensation in their family. The Woods family’s athletic dynasty, built on Tiger Woods’s golfing greatness, has branched into soccer, courtesy of Sam Woods. The 48-year-old watched her from the sidelines, praising her dedication at the 2023 PNC Championship. But as brother Charlie’s dreams recently got snubbed, attention shifts to Sam’s soccer journey. So, what’s next for her soccer dreams?
The answer lies in her current soccer status—or lack thereof. Sam and Charlie Woods are both emerging athletes in their respective sports, soccer, and golf, at Benjamin High School. Last season, she donned the Benjamin Buccaneers’ navy, orange, and white jersey. Thereby, proudly representing her school’s Varsity Girls’ Soccer team.
It seems Sam Woods could be gearing up for her next soccer match on November 6 against Nova Southeastern University (NSU). She chose to expand her athletic horizons by taking up track and field. Has she made a switch from soccer to track and field? Surprisingly, she hasn’t moved away from soccer; instead, she has chosen to become a dual-sport athlete at Benjamin High School.
The golfer’s influence extends beyond golf to his daughter Sam’s athletic pursuits. Introducing her to golf at a young age, he hoped to spark a shared passion. But her true devotion remains soccer. As Woods proudly acknowledged, “She does her own thing, which is soccer. She’s committed to that.” Her enthusiasm for golf is somewhat evident in her appearances alongside her father. Notably, her caddying duty at the 2023 PNC Championship.

She will continue to kick the ball around the field and compete in track events. Meanwhile, brother Charlie Woods is skillfully trying to carry his father’s golf legacy forward. With both Sam and Charlie excelling in their respective sports, the Woods family’s athletic dynasty continues to thrive. But Woods Jr. has faced his share of problems recently. Despite his successes, challenges have tested his resolve, prompting questions about his future in the sport.
Tiger Woods’s son Charlie struggles in high school golf
Charlie Woods has experienced a mix of triumph and heartbreak in his young golfing career. Despite his impressive credentials, including a +3 handicap with the Florida State Golf Association, he is notably absent from Benjamin School’s Golf Varsity-Boys and Golf-JV-Boys tournaments this fall. His 2024 season has seen significant successes, including a T2 finish at the Medalist Tour in March. Another was his win at the SFPGA Junior Cup in July, where he carded 73-68-73.
However, the 15-year-old has also faced his share of setbacks. He failed to qualify for the PGA Tour’s Cognizant Classic and missed the cut by 18 strokes at the US Junior Amateur. But he didn’t let those disappointments define him. He rebounded with his SFPGA Junior Cup victory, revealing, “I wanted it so bad… I wanted to redeem myself. I felt focused, and I knew what I had to do to get it done.” This resilience and determination underscore Woods Jr.’s promising golf future. That leaves fans wondering about his path forward in high school golf.
