Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck are both focusing on the good amid their split.

Nearly two weeks after the Atlas actress, 55, filed for divorce from the Air actor-director, 52, an Affleck source tells PEOPLE that he is “doing well” and “slowly moving into his new home.”

“He’s where he wants to be: close to his kids and in a neighborhood that he loves,” the source adds. “He enjoys working too, and is very focused on the positives.”

Meanwhile, a Lopez source tells PEOPLE that “she still feels very fortunate” with how her life is now despite feeling “some bitterness” about the split. “She tried so hard to make things work and it didn’t matter to Ben.”

“She’s surrounded by family, friends and her kids,” the source close to Lopez says. “She always manages to have a positive outlook. The divorce is difficult for her, but she always finds a way to move forward.”

Lopez filed for divorce from Affleck on Aug. 20, listing a separation date of April 26. The date of her filing also marked the two-year anniversary of their Georgia wedding.

The “If You Had My Love” singer filed her divorce paperwork in Los Angeles County Superior Court without an attorney. The move suggests she “just wanted to get this done” and move forward, a legal expert told PEOPLE on Aug. 21.

“It’s really hit her hard,” a source told PEOPLE last week of Lopez. “She’s very upset and disappointed with Ben.”

Another insider told PEOPLE earlier that week that the singer-actress was “doing as well as she can” and “seems relieved” after filing.

“She didn’t want a divorce. She wanted to figure things out,” that source added.

On Aug. 26, a source told PEOPLE that Affleck was “doing well and is very focused” in the wake of Lopez’s divorce filing, which came after months of speculation that their marriage was on the rocks.

“He thrives when he has work projects. He’s been great when it comes to the kids too. He’s doing exactly what he wants,” the insider said. “He seems very happy.”

The source added that Affleck felt he was “done with his marriage” when he first moved into a rental home in Los Angeles separately from where he and Lopez were living together.

Insiders first told PEOPLE the pair were living apart on May 17. The news was followed by a summer on opposite coasts, with the Oscar winner in Los Angeles and Lopez spending time in New York City and the Hamptons for her birthday.

Affleck is a dad to three kids with ex-wife Jennifer Garner: Violet, 18, Seraphina, 15, and Samuel, 12. Lopez shares 16-year-old twins Max and Emme with ex-husband Marc Anthony.
