Sunny Hostin is getting heated about Taylor Swift‘s bestie Brittany Mahomes, who has come under fire for her alleged support of Donald Trump.
On this morning’s episode of The View, the ladies weighed in on Trump’s latest social media outburst, in which he boldly declared that he “hates” Swift following her endorsement for Vice President Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election. In light of his tirade, new reports are claiming that the singer’s pal Brittany, who recently came under fire for liking a pro-MAGA social media post, is rethinking her presumed support of the former president.
“We’re being really good about it because some could say, because he’s mad at your best friend, now you’re mad?” Whoopi Goldberg asked at the top of the segment. “It didn’t bother you that he was being a racist and being a misogynist? That didn’t get you going? But we’re not gonna bring that up.”
Goldberg might have promised to steer away from the topic, but Hostin sure didn’t. When it came time for her to speak, she suggested that Brittany is “not that politically savvy” given the fact that her husband — Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes — and children are biracial.
“It just seems to me that since she is in an interracial marriage, she should’ve known that to support a racist is problematic,” Hostin said. “Her children are biracial and her family is one of the families that in the ‘70s could not have lived in any of Donald Trump’s buildings.”
Hostin added, “So it just seems to me that maybe she’s just not that politically savvy or maybe she’s just not read-in. But it’s problematic.”

Meanwhile, Alyssa Farah Griffin noted that Brittany has not specifically declared which candidate she would be voting for in the upcoming election.
“All we know is that she liked a Trump post. She hasn’t stated that she supported him. That’s fair to interpret that she may have but we don’t know that she’s a supporter,” Griffin said, before Goldberg concluded, “Pick your champions, babe!”
