Shania Twain Garners Backlash For Backup Dancer’s Revealing Attire: “Country Magic Mike”
Shania Twain, the family-friendly performer, thought to put on quite that show that’s been compared to a country rendition of Magic Mike.
The singer recently performed in Las Vegas, for her Shania Twain: COME ON OVER – The Las Vegas Residency – All The Hits! show. Recently, it seems she’s been experimenting with more promiscuous and revealing attire, and the fans have not enjoyed it one bit.
Although we’ve seen worse rebrands (cough JoJo Siwa cough), Twain fans don’t like the new direction she’s trying to take herself in.
On TikTok, someone posted a video of Shania Twain and her backup dancers, who are also dressed rather scantily. She was performing “Any Man Of Mine,” and decided some dirty dancing was a necessity.
Rather embarrassingly, out of nowhere, a backup dancer got on all fours and started thrusting and grinding in the air toward Shania. She leaned back as she sang, playing into the ‘dance’. He thankfully soon got up and joined the others.
The whole thing left people wondering what on earth just happened.
Internet Reacts To Shania Twain’s Country Magic Mike Concert
I know I keep alluding to the “country magic mike” comment left by a spectator, but I find it too funny.
Others have also weighed in on the performance.
“Anyone remember when Shania was classy, sang with heart, and made country music great?” one asks, lamenting the current state of Twain’s performances. This is a far cry from what people are used to for sure.
“I just don’t understand what happened!!” another exclaimed.
“plz take me back to blue jean, plaid shirt Shania,” one pleaded.
“She is her own version of a temu Shania,” one digs, saying she’s a second-rate of herself now.
“Ummmm. What move was that sir??” another jokingly asks, pointing out the absurd dance from the backup dancer.
“I used to like Shania Twain. Not anymore. She’s not the same person. Tries to look sexy. Why? And Magic Mike is in the wrong place. This is country music, right?”
The people have spoken, although I think Shania will keep doing Shania, whatever that looks like these days.
