MLB Fans Call Out Keith McPherson For Going Overboard With Jon HeymanJon Heyman and Keith McPherson (Images Credit: X @Awful Announcing/@Keith McPherson
MLB journalist and insider Jon Heyman is known for being accurate with his breaking news on players. He is one of the most trusted insiders who recently appeared on the WFAN radio show. The show’s host, Keith McPherson, started out well with Heyman, as both were discussing Clay Holmes signing with the Mets.

During the discussion, McPherson joked about Heyman’s mistake that happened two years ago. The host reminded Heyman about the time he mistakenly tweeted (Arson Judge) instead of (Aaron Judge). Heyman never liked the way the interview went on. To make matters worse, McPherson said that Heyman was a part of the Scott Boras Corporation.

The host was joking with his guest, and eventually, Heyman hung up abruptly. Some MLB fans were not happy with McPherson’s approach either. Here’s the audio clip from the WFAN interview.

Here’s a look at some of the fan reactions on X.

“Fair to criticize for Arson Judge. Not fair to insinuate he is being paid by Boras without some evidence,” wrote one fan.

“I listened to the full interview live. Keith was joking around but I have no clue why you’d spend your audience’s time joking around instead getting every last detail you can out of Heyman (who has Keith said is a Boras guy). Bad job by Keith,” another fan responded.

“Keith is unprofessional,” another fan chipped in.

“Keith just ruined it for everyone at the station,” one fan responded.

“Not cool to have him on just to embarrass him,” one fan wrote.

Keith McPherson Apologizes After Jon Heyman Hangs Up

Jon Heyman is a veteran journalist with a great reputation. It seems like McPherson understood his joke was not taken in the right way, as he apologized to Heyman after he hung up.

“I did not expect it to go that way I think if you heard my tone and the way that I’m completely joking and kidding, having a lighter conversation. I introduced you and gave credit to how everybody follows your words and your tweets I apologize right now to Jon Heyman if that rubbed in the wrong way,” McPherson said.

Heyman was upset, lashing out at the host, and hung up for good. It’s pretty evident that the journalist will not be appearing on the WFAN show for a while, or at least with McPherson. Heyman hung up, yelling, “I can’t even believe it.”

Heyman thinks Soto will likely make a decision soon, as his free agency period is approaching its end. The Mets and the Yankees are still huge favorites to sign Soto.
