Kanye West is explaining where he got the inspiration for his upcoming album title.

The “Carnival” rapper, 47, recently sat down with fellow rapper Justin Laboy, 33, to discuss his upcoming album, his creative process and more. During the interview, West shared how his 9-year-old son Saint, whom he shares with ex-wife Kim Kardashian, 44, inspired the project’s title.

“My son [Saint] was playing with some kid, and then he kicked him,” West told Laboy. “I asked my son, ‘why you do that?’ and he said, ‘because he weak.’ I was like, ‘this man is really a bully.'”

The album, which comes out on his daughter North’s birthday, is the first release from the rapper in over three years. Over the course of Kardashian and West’s 10-year relationship, the pair welcomed four children together: Psalm, 5, Chicago, 7, Saint and North, 11.

The SKIMS co-founder has continued to be open about her co-parenting experience with West. “Make sure you are your co-parent’s biggest cheerleader, no matter what you’re personally going through,” Kardashian told Vogue in February 2022.

Despite the split, West maintains a close relationship with his children. In September, the rapper, 47, held a listening party for his album Vultures 2 at the Wuyuan River Sports Stadium in Hainan, China. Halfway through his performance, the dad of four brought out his children to perform his song “Everybody.”

In footage on X (formerly known as Twitter), the kids walked onto the stage holding hands, before excitedly waving to the crowd. They shared the stage with their dad for the entirety of the song.

North also recently shared that the “Famous” rapper inspires her fashion sense. While speaking with her mom for her Interview Magazine cover story, published in October, the budding superstar said, “I like streetwear and ’90s. Tyler, the Creator; my dad; me!”
