The rapper’s mother was visibly distraught as she arrived with the rapper’s children to appear before a hearing on a series of charges…for a blockbuster case.
Janice Combs, 84, looked grim in oversized glasses and a fur coat as she clutched the arm of a supporter as they made their way to court.
The pensioner bowed her head as she stepped out of a black car to the sounds of an angry crowd gathered outside the venue where Diddy, 54, was preparing for a blockbuster case.
“Janice, your son is a predator,” a man shouted. “Your son is a predator and he deserves to be locked up.”
The rapper’s daughters held hands as they entered the hearing just minutes before it was due to begin.
Jessie James and D’Lila Star, both 17, remained silent when asked if they had ‘any comments’ about their father’s trial.

But the reaction they got from the crowd that gathered was even warmer than their grandmother’s – as they were told to ‘stick together’ and their guardians were told to ‘take care of those girls’.
Diddy entered the courtroom today through a side door, wearing prison garb. He smiled and hugged his lawyers as he entered the room.
The judge gave Diddy a trial date of May 5, at the request of his legal team. Prosecutors said they estimated their cause would take about three weeks, while Combs’ lawyers said they would need about a week to make their case.
He will remain behind bars while he awaits trial, despite surrendering his passport, selling his private jet and offering his $48 million home to get out on bail.
They went on to file a motion for an evidentiary hearing, accusing the government of leaking sensitive information from the case.
Concerns have been raised about how surveillance footage of Diddy beating his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hotel room was made public.
Diddy’s attorney said: “A series of unlawful leaks by the government, resulting in damaging, highly damaging pretrial disclosure, can only taint the jury and deprive Mr. Combs of his right to a fair trial.”
In a statement to the judge Thursday afternoon, the government responded: “We are concerned by Mr. Agnifilo’s claims.
“He baselessly accuses the government of engaging in a racist prosecution.”
Cassie could still be called to testify as a star witness in the upcoming trial, despite allegedly signing a nondisclosure agreement.
The singer settled the lawsuit with Diddy in November 2023, but her appearance is seen as a catalyst for further investigations into Diddy’s behavior.

Since the rapper’s arrest, as many as 120 victims have come forward, but Diddy maintains his innocence and is asking for a trial in early spring.
Janice Combs has previously criticised her son’s ‘public execution’ as she slammed the allegations against him as ‘lies’
The pensioner ducked his head as he got out of a black car to the sound of an angry crowd gathering outside the venue where Diddy, 54, was preparing for a blockbuster hit.
Wearing a tight white dress under a fur coat and oversized sunglasses, she was held back by an associate as she approached the courtroom.

Janice Combs previously criticized the ‘public execution’ of her son as she called the allegations against him ‘lies’.
“These lies are motivated by people who are looking for financial gain, not justice,” she said.
“These individuals saw how quickly my son’s civil legal team settled his ex-girlfriend’s lawsuit, so they believed they could get a quick payday by falsely accusing my son.
“It’s important to recognize that none of us, regardless of our status, are immune to fear or error. Not being completely forthright about an issue does not mean my son is guilty of the heinous and serious allegations against him.
“The worst part of this ordeal has been watching my beloved son stripped of his dignity, not because of what he did, but because of what people choose to believe about him.”
As many as 120 victims have since come forward, but Diddy maintains his innocence and has asked for a trial as early as the spring.
During a search of Combs’ home earlier this year, law enforcement seized drugs, videos of performances, and more than 1,000 bottles of baby oil and lubricants, prosecutors said.
They said agents also seized guns and ammunition, including three AR-15s with obliterated serial numbers, from his Miami bedroom closet.
Janice continued: “Watching the world make fun of and laugh at my son’s life falling apart before our eyes is something I will never forget.
“It was painful to watch the world turn its back on my son so quickly and so easily because of lies and misconceptions, without ever hearing his side or giving him the opportunity to show his side.”
She said that “like every human being, my son deserves his day in court, to finally share his side and prove his innocence.”
It comes after it was revealed Diddy’s mother, Janice Combs, and her twin daughters visited him in his Brooklyn jail cell this week, according to TMZ.
The publication described the reunion as “emotional.”
Diddy is being held at the Metropolitan Detention Center after his bail request was denied.
The incident comes as Diddy’s mother, Janice Combs, and her twin daughters visited him in his Brooklyn jail cell this week. He is seen here with his mother in New Jersey at the MTV Music Awards in September 2023.
His high-powered legal team is preparing for a blockbuster trial, with Diddy ‘asserting his right to a speedy trial’ in a filing with the US Department of Justice seen by DailyMail.com.
It is understood that concerns have been raised about the way surveillance footage of Diddy beating his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in a hotel room was made public.
Diddy’s lawyer said: “A series of unlawful government leaks, resulting in highly damaging, pre-trial disclosure, can only taint the jury and deprive Mr Combs of his right to a fair trial.”
Diddy is seeking access to a mountain of data seized by prosecutors since they raided his homes in Miami and Los Angeles in March 2024.
In total, prosecutors are copying more than 40 electronic devices belonging to the star.
“The discovery in this case is enormous, totaling several terabytes of electronic material,” the government argued in its latest filing.
There are 1,000 gigabytes per terabyte of data, meaning the government is currently sifting through thousands of gigabytes of potentially important information.
This includes cell phones, laptops, tablets, hard drives, cloud accounts from both Diddy and third parties.
Diddy is seeking access to a mountain of data that prosecutors have seized since they raided his homes in Miami and Los Angeles in March 2024.
In addition, prosecutors are scouring business records from financial institutions, phone companies, hotels and airlines as they build their case.
“We understand that the government seized a significant amount of Mr. Combs’ electronic devices and data pursuant to a search warrant executed on March 25, 2024,” Diddy’s lawyers said.
The government also seized additional devices from Mr. Combs at the time of his arrest approximately three weeks ago.
The timely production of these materials is critical to Mr. Combs’ ability to prepare a defense.”
His attorneys argued that because the devices in question “belong to Mr. Combs, their production should not be delayed by the government’s initial assessment of suitability and privilege.
“The government has indicated that it will be able to produce these devices within the next 30 days.”
The government has argued that it would take days to copy data from the devices “due to the volume of material,” but has vowed to “produce within the next thirty days the hard drives seized from the defendant.”
In the filing, the government said it hopes to turn over all of its findings by the end of the year.
In September, a federal judge denied bail for the rapper after he denied the charges and offered his and his mother’s Miami homes as collateral.
Diddy and his mother were seen sharing again in June 2022, on the BET Awards red carpet
A lawyer representing Diddy’s accusers said his phone is ringing off the hook with people wanting to share their own horror stories.
In total, he has about 120 clients — 25 of whom say they were minors at the time of the alleged crimes.
He is also preparing to name other celebrities who could soon be caught up in the allegations.
“We want to make sure that if we name individuals other than Mr. Combs, we have done our homework because it will create a firestorm and we understand that.
“If you were there in the room, participating, watching it happen and not saying anything or helping to cover it up, in my opinion, you have a problem.”
Buzbee has vowed to pursue charges against any offenders ‘aggressively’, saying the scope is wide.
Following his arrest, all of Diddy’s famous friendships have come under scrutiny. Photos from his infamous parties have resurfaced, with guests and witnesses speaking out about the depravity that often took place.
Buzbee has previously said people would be “shocked” by the names he hears during the investigation.
