Former NBA player Dikembe Mutombo, known for his impressive 18-season career in the NBA, tragically passed away on September 30 at the age of 58 after bravely battling brain cancer. Instead of offering a condolence message, actor Rob Schneider sparked controversy with his comments on the eight-time NBA All-Star’s passing.

After Mutombo’s passing, Schneider shared a video from December 2021 in which Mutombo raised awareness about vaccinations during the COVID-19 pandemic. Schneider, who is an anti-vaccine activist, made a surprising link between Mutombo’s death and the vaccination with his caption in the post.

“Rest in Peace… I’m sure this is just (another) coincidence. But I took a pass on the Jab and I’m gonna not let anyone I know (and who will Listen) get it either!” Schneider wrote in his post on X (formerly known as Twitter).

Schneider’s comments about the NBA legend were not well-received by fans, who began criticizing him in the comment section of his post on X. One fan wrote, “No wonder your own child thinks you’re a fucking lowlife failure.”

Meanwhile, another fan tagged Adam Sandler and urged him to end his friendship with Schneider: “@AdamSandler I really hope you’ll reconsider your friendship with someone who would say something so despicable. You know Dikembe; this is disgusting”

A sports enthusiast mentioned, “He had brain cancer. So your correlation ain’t correlating.”

Another fan commented, “Wow. Ambulance chaser celebration another human’s death from cancer. Shame on you.”

Rob Schneider Fires Back At Critics: Points Fingers At Political Leaders

On October 1, Schneider issued a statement in response to the critics, attributing the spread of false narratives about the vaccine to political leaders and health professionals. He expressed his belief that these individuals were responsible for disseminating misinformation.

“Dear fake outrage warriors, save your anger for the liars who promised the jab was the only cure, that if you took it you wouldn’t get COVID or give it: [Joe] Biden/[Kamala] Harris, [Dr. Anthony] Fauci, [Rachel] Maddow, Pfizer, your liberal media, the cowardly teachers’ union, masking two-year-olds, Govs who closed schools.” Schneider wrote.
