King Charles delivers huge snub to Harry and Meghan over Christmas plans

King Charles is planning a lavish Christmas celebration for around 100 royals – but Harry and Meghan aren’t invited.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have received a brutal snub from King Charles amid reports that they are ‘not on the list’ to attend Christmas celebrations at Sandringham this year.

Buckingham Palace aides began exploring the appetite to take part in the annual Christmas feast among members of the royal family last week.

Sandringham House will host “a large number” of royal guests this Christmas, according to a Palace insider. It is understood that approximately 100 guests will be treated to a buffet-style roast and a lavish array of traditional trimmings.

The source added: “It was trialled in the ballroom for the first time last year and proved a big success so this year will be held in a similar fashion.”

But despite the large number of other guests, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have not been invited and are unlikely to travel to the UK at all this Christmas.

Instead, space has been reserved for Queen Camilla ‘s family, including her son Tom Parker Bowles and daughter Laura Lopes, along with her five grandchildren: Lola, 17, Freddy, 14, Eliza, 16, and 14 year old twins Gus and Louis.

Prince William and Princess Kate will be among the royal guests, although they are expected to stay at their nearby Anmer Hall residence for the festivities.

Princess Beatrice will also celebrate with the royals, alongside her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi. The pair will bring their eight-year-old stepson ‘Wolfie’ and three-year-old daughter Sienna, as well as proudly showcasing Beatrice’s new baby bump.

Princess Anne and her children Peter Phillips and Zara Tindall will also make an appearance, accompanied by their respective children. They will be joined by the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh and their two children, Lady Louise Windsor and James Wessex.

The Duke and Duchess of York, along with Princess Eugenie and her children, have also made the guest list.

A smaller group of guests are expected to mark Christmas Eve by exchanging humorous gifts over an Afternoon Tea. Then on Christmas morning, the Royal Family will meet for breakfast before heading to St Mary Magdalene Church for their traditional Christmas service.

Although Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, will not join the Royal Family at Sandringham this year, they have instead been invited to spend the Christmas holidays with the Spencer family at Althorp.

Despite this offer, royal insiders say it is unlikely that the Sussexes will travel to the UK this December, the Daily Express reports.

A source said: “Harry and Meghan are not going to spend Christmas with the Spencers or the Royal Family this year,” said the source. “It’s just not an option with the children at the moment due to what’s been going on with their security.”
