Keys to the Game: Celtics 132, Knicks 109

KEY MOMENT

The Celtics went straight from Tuesday’s ring ceremony into a 3-point barrage against the New York Knicks.

Jayson Tatum got the season going with a 3-pointer 12 seconds into the game, and that set the tone for a record night at TD Garden.

Boston made 10-of-17 from long distance during the first quarter, including a 4-of-6 effort from Tatum. He was one of seven Celtics to make a triple during the opening frame.

New York, meanwhile, made 1-of-7 as a team during that span.

The C’s led 43-24 after one quarter and went up by as many as 35 points en route to a 132-109 season-opening win. Along the way, they broke the franchise record and tied the NBA record for 3-point makes in a game with a 29-of-61 effort from deep.

Quite a way to set the stage for a new NBA season.
