Jon Bon Jovi didn’t mince words when discussing fellow superstar Taylor Swift in a recent interview – in fact, he has nothing but praise for the singer.

Calling the 14-time Grammy winner “absolutely incredible,” the “It’s My Life” artist, 62, told Variety in an interview published on June 11 that Swift has “created an industry.”

“She utilized what she does best,” Bon Jovi explained, emphasizing how Swift, 34, has always stayed true to her roots.

“She sings like Taylor Swift. She plays guitar like Taylor Swift,” the musician— sounding almost like he was quoting her Tortured Poets Department song “Clara Bow” — added. “She’s not trying to be something that she’s not, and it is connected with an audience that is unique.”

Swift and Bon Jovi have been peers in the industry for years. During his 2013 performance of “Livin’ on a Prayer” at Kensington Palace, Swift joined the “Runaway” rocker on stage — and brought Prince William right on up with her.

The three-way collab was “all her,” Bon Jovi told The Independent earlier this year when recalling the iconic moment. “She literally grabbed him by the arm and ran up on stage, and they both knew the words and sang along.”

Bon Jovi has indeed mentioned Swift a fair amount while promoting his recent Hulu docuseries, Thank You, Goodnight.

On a Television Critics Association panel in February, the New Jersey native joked about Swift’s breakup hits while recalling the beginning of his own career in the early ’80s.

“At 20, when I got a record deal, I didn’t have a lot else to write about except high school,” he quipped. “And I didn’t break up with people like Taylor [Swift] did.”

Indeed, Bon Jovi has been married to his high school sweetheart, Dorothea Hurley, since 1989. (A Swift Easter egg? She also has a song called “Dorothea”…)

But that doesn’t mean he’s always “been a saint” in his marriage, Bon Jovi told The Independent in April.

“It was the ’80s, for God’s sake. It was the ’90s, it was the 2000s,” he elaborated to Variety in June. “Did a girl ever throw herself at me? F***, yes. I’m Jon Bon Jovi.”
