Jayson Tatum’s ascent toward the top of the NBA has been slow and steady. He’s proven himself at every level while carrying himself like a consummate professional. Last season, his team-first mentality and complete style of play allowed the Boston Celtics to thrive, resulting in the first championship in 16 years for the franchise.

Even when Tatum was benched for two games during the Olympics, he carried himself with class and poise. However, he’s been a more aggressive version of himself on offense to begin the new season. Nevertheless, Tatum has done everything right as he bids to become the next face of the NBA.

This past summer, the St. Louis native took another step toward that mountain top. He was named as the NBA 2K cover athlete, with a video of his son Deuce sharing the moment with him going viral online. During a recent appearance on Jeff Teague’s “Club 520” podcast, Tatum detailed his experience and gratitude at being given the opportunity to represent the 2K franchise.
