Former bodyguard reveals Meghan’s feelings when she is married into the royal family
The Duchess’s former bodyguard Steve Davies said she had always been ‘stressed’ since dating Harry.
Steve Davies started working for Meghan in 2016, when he was hired by NBC Television to protect the actress during her filming of Suits in Toronto, Canada. “She was stressed because she was getting too much attention,” the male bodyguard shared with InTouch about Meghan’s time dating Harry.
After that, Davies felt “sorry” for Meghan because she suddenly became a member of the most famous family in the world from a B-list star. “We are being followed everywhere. We also had trouble with drones and vehicles chasing us. It’s a nightmare,” Steve told the US news agency.
As a veteran of the British special forces, Steve said he feared that “what happened to Princess Diana could also come to Meghan”. According to the former bodyguard, Meghan’s life changed completely after her wedding to Prince Harry in 2018.
In addition, Steve also defended Meghan against criticism that she was a difficult duchess who could not work with. “I learned an important lesson from her: Be respectful to be respected,” Steve said.
Steve’s interview came days after the media broke a series of reports that many of Harry’s employees told The Hollywood Reporter that “everyone is afraid of Meghan” and that she is a “tough” woman. Contrary to these allegations, Steve said the 43-year-old duchess was “always enthusiastic and attentive”. “She’s very nice to her fans and always tries her best to help people. What breaks my heart is that people believe in the opposite,” former bodyguard Meghan added.
For many years, Meghan has been nicknamed the “difficult duchess” due to allegedly treating her subordinates harshly. However, she has always denied allegations of bullying employees, and implied that this was a “calculated smear campaign” by the palace against her.
