Dwight Yoakam was one of the first country artists to collaborate with rapper Post Malone.
They have another new song out but fans aren’t feeling it. Keep reading to find out more.
New Dwight Yoakam Album Coming
Dwight Yoakam burst onto the country music scene in 1986 with his debut album, Guitars, Cadillacs, Etc., Etc.. He’s still churning out the hits nearly 40 years later. He’s set to release his 16th studio album later this year.
Brighter Days drops on November 15th. It features 14 new songs, including 12 that Dwight Yoakam wrote or co-wrote. The country singer also covers “Keeping On The Sunny Side” by the Carter Family and “Bound Away” by Cake.
The album features a collaboration with rapper Post Malone, who recently ventured into country music. Posty released his first country album last month. It features heavy-hitting artists like Dolly Parton, Blake Shelton, Hank Williams Jr., and more.
The Post Malone and Dwight Yoakam collaboration, “I Don’t Know How To Say Goodbye (Bang Bang Boom Boom,)” is only on Yoakam’s new album, though. A teaser dropped earlier this week.

Legendary Country Singer Slammed For New Song With Post Malone
Post Malone’s country album quickly shot to the top of the charts. But some country music fans aren’t feeling it. One Dwight Yoakam fan took to Reddit to share their thoughts on the new Post Malone x Dwight Yoakam song.
They wrote, “This song is a**. The song he made with Blake Shelton is a** too. Wtf is going on?”
Several other Redditors seemed to agree:
Haven’t heard the first track you’re talking about but you’re trippin about the Blake Shelton collab..
I love Dwight. He’s always been one of my favourites but, but, much like Snoop Dogg, he’s never topped his debut album.
They ain’t all gonna be hits. Overall I do like his country album though. I especially like Finer things with Hank Jr. and Guy for that with Luke Combs.
Well, that collab was a real Dwight-mare of a decision.
It was just a cash grab.
His shaking auto tuned voice sucks
I call it “stunt country” or “stuntry” music.
One unimpressed listener shared this hot take about Dolly Parton’s collaboration with Post Malone: “I thought the song with Dolly was a**. The auto tune is garbage.”
Another added, “Post Malone is garbage!”
Give the Post Malone and Dwight Yoakam song a listen and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
