A concerning scene just unfolded live from Buffalo, involving former Montreal Canadien Mike Reilly.

He fell badly after a solid hit from forward Jordan Greenway (of the Sabres), and as of this writing, he has not moved since his fall.

His head appears to have hit the ice hard.

Our thoughts are with him.. All eyes in the hockey world are currently on Reilly.

This is the kind of scene we always hate to see during a hockey game, even though, in this case, it doesn’t seem to be due to a dangerous or illegal hit.

Reilly, aged 31, is a 6-foot-2, 191-pound defenseman.

The fourth-round pick by the Blue Jackets in 2011 has accumulated 122 points in 410 career games in the NHL.

This was his 70th game with the New York Islanders, his 10th this season. He also played with the Montreal Canadiens organization from 2017 to 2020.

Update: Reilly finally got up a few moments later, so that’s promising, but we’re still awaiting an official update.

We will indeed keep you updated on every detail, but the latest news is much more encouraging than the initial images that came out.

Patrick Roy’s team is already dealing with numerous absences, including their star forward Mathew Barzal.
