Former Montreal Canadiens player, the much-loved Guillaume Latendresse, has just made an important announcement.

He has publicly announced that he is indefinitely leaving the public sphere and taking a break to take care of his mental health.

Wow, what courage!

Kudos to Guillaume Latendresse for this initiative and decision, which will certainly inspire many people who may be experiencing similar challenges.

Guillaume Latendresse Takes a Break

We won’t be seeing him anymore (until further notice) on TVA Sports or on La Poche Bleue with his loyal partner, Max Lapierre.

See his post and explanations:

«I wanted to write to you to let you know that I am currently going through difficult times mentally.

This has been an ongoing situation for a few years, probably a symptom of my concussions during my career, and I have decided to try to address my issue this week.

I will therefore take a break from all my professional activities, La Poche Bleue, TVA, and Le Bataillon, all of which have been very understanding and have provided me with the necessary support, so that I can take time to heal.

This is something I perhaps should have done a few years ago, but I always delayed.

I appreciate your respect for my family and me during this ordeal, as well as your support over the years, whether on the ice or behind the microphone.

I consider myself lucky to be able to count on you, and I already look forward to seeing you again once I’ve taken proper care of myself and my health.

See you soon!»

– Guillaume Latendresse

The entire HabsFanatics team wishes to send a huge wave of support to Guillaume Latendresse, and once again, I want to congratulate him on his decision.

It surely wasn’t easy, but it’s evidently what’s best for him and his family. Truly admirable.

We’re all with you, Guillaume! Take care and take all the time you need.

More details to follow.
