One particular injury has been ruled out where Jordan Love is concerned, with the quarterback going down against the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday night.

The Green Bay Packers and Eagles squared up for an entertaining NFC showdown in Sao Paulo, Brazil, on the night. The Eagles came out on top, winning 34-29, but Green Bay was in the game right up until the final few seconds.

Unfortunately, Love would sustain a worrying injury during those last few seconds. The quarterback was dragged down on the penultimate play of the game, and his left leg contorted unnaturally as the ground came up to meet him.

Love was assisted off the field and did not return for the final play of the drive.

Matt LaFleur, the Packers head coach, said he did not know the severity of the injury after the game. Various sources have theorized that the QB may have sustained an ACL tear; a possible ankle injury was also thought to be on the cards.

The Athletic’s Dianna Russini has since revealed that the team has ruled out the latter while they wait for the player to undergo an MRI.

“When the Packers land, Jordan Love will get an MRI. I’m told an ankle injury has been ruled out at this point. Right now, it’s just wait-and-see for more information on the injury,” she tweeted.

Jordan Love Has Fans Waiting Nervously

Footage of the moment the injury occurred does not look good, and fans are sweating ahead of what they hope will be a positive update.

The Packers were looking forward to another progressive campaign with Love under center. The former Utah State star got off to an impressive start – despite the loss and a costly interception – having thrown 17/34 for 260 yards and two touchdowns.

Meanwhile, the Eagles are returning to the United States with the win following Saquon Barkley’s impressive debut. The running back scored three touchdowns in his first game for Philly, while receivers A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith also made a significant impact.
