Angel Reese’s rookie year ended on a heartbreaking note after a wrist injury sidelined her during the final 10 days of the regular season. While the injury kept her off the court, Reese has certainly made the most of her downtime. From attending high-profile fashion shows to hosting big-name celebrities, the Chi-Town Barbie has kept busy. Now, her latest update assures fans that she has recovered just in time for the highly anticipated Unrivaled event next month and she’s already putting in long hours of work.
The Chicago Sky star always keeps her fans in the loop. So, on Tuesday, Reese took to Snapchat to share a behind-the-scenes glimpse of her day, in which she could be seen gearing up for a shoot.
She playfully hid her face beneath a cap, looking slightly worn out, but ready to tackle the long day ahead still. She captioned it, “Let the 8 hr shoot BEGINNN.” hinting at what the day has in store for her.
Though Reese didn’t share details about the shoot, her update makes one thing clear—the Chicago Sky star isn’t shying away from long hours, and her September injury now seems to be a thing of the past.
Reese has been putting in the work, too—recently spotted at the gym grinding through squats. This hustle, along with everything else, suggests that she’s not planning on wasting any time when Unrivaled kicks off. In fact, it looks like she’ll be ready to hit the court for Rose Basketball Club as soon as the league starts.
But it’s not just her off-court commitments that are keeping her busy—Reese recently made a decision that underscores her drive to improve both her performance and fitness in the 3×3 league.
Angel Reese’s bold move: Teaming up with elite trainer for Unrivaled preps
This move is a key step in Angel Reese’s preparation for the groundbreaking 3×3 women’s basketball league, set to debut in January 2025. For Reese, it’s not just about getting back on the court—it’s about taking her career to new heights and proving she can stand out among basketball’s elite, including fellow WNBA rookie sensation Caitlin Clark.
Reese’s decision to join the Unrivaled League is a game-changer, bringing not only financial benefits but also the chance to compete at the highest level. She’s set to earn $250,000 for the eight-week season and will also gain equity in the league, giving her a substantial financial boost in comparison to her WNBA salary, which averages just over $81,000 a year.
Talking about the move, Reese expressed her excitement about the chance to stay in the U.S. while competing at a high level. “For one, I’m staying in the States, so I don’t have to go overseas. I’m making six figures, and I get to live in Miami during the off-season,” she had shared.
She is also excited about getting the opportunity to learn. “I’ll be playing alongside 34 of the top WNBA players and working with some of the best coaches. I’m really looking forward to honing my skills and getting better.” With her injury behind her and a clear focus on improvement, Angel Reese is ready to make a major impact in the Unrivaled League.
