Kent Hughes and The Montreal Canadiens Could Help the Colorado Avalanche Via Trade

In the past few hours, we brought you exclusive insights from the excellent Marco D’Amico, indicating that forward Jake Evans is drawing attention.

The very reliable Canadiens center is stirring up interest in the NHL trade market, and at least three teams have reportedly shown serious interest in acquiring him.

With this in mind, let’s talk about the Colorado Avalanche’s front office, who are certainly among those interested in Jake Evans.

The team led by Chris MacFarland and Jared Bednar has been completely decimated by injuries, and the Avalanche is actively seeking reinforcements for their offense.

Currently, Jonathan Drouin, Artturi Lehkonen, Valeri Nichushkin, Gabriel Landeskog, Ross Colton, and Miles Wood are either injured or absent.

That’s practically their entire offense.

A trade between the Montreal Canadiens and Colorado Avalanche involving a forward?

Given that Kent Hughes and MacFarland have a solid trade history, this clearly seems possible.

Could it be Christian Dvorak, Jake Evans, Brendan Gallagher, or someone else? Either way, don’t be surprised if we hear about a trade between Montreal and Colorado soon.

On one hand, this could give the Avalanche a needed jolt for their offense; on the other, it could allow Kent Hughes to call up Alex Barré-Boulet and send a message in the locker room.

It’s clear that the Colorado team is highly interested in Jake Evans, much like they wanted Artturi Lehkonen a few years ago, but the Canadiens may be more hesitant to trade him.
