On Wednesday’s episode of the “New Heights” show with Jason Kelce and Travis Kelce, the NFL brothers dropped details about a major podcast guest coming to the show in January.
“Another very special guest episode is going to be coming up Thursday, Jan. 2,” Jason announced. “We finally got someone that the 92 percenters have been demanding. We’ve been waiting for this one for a long time.”
“Everyone has,” interrupted his little brother, Travis, building the hype.
Based on their history, very few guests are off the table. The Kelces’ previous high-profile guests have included major celebrities from outside sports, such as Arnold Schwarzenegger, Adam Sandler, Paul Rudd and most recently, Bill Murray.
“You’re going to want to see him or her,” teased Jason, 37. “We’re not going to give it — well, (the fans) will probably tell you who it is.”
The current Kansas City Chiefs tight end and former Philadelphia Eagles center have used their influence in the past to reel in sports icons including Kansas City’s Patrick Mahomes and Andy Reid, the Eagles’ Saquon Barkley and Jalen Hurts, World Series hero Freddie Freeman, and sports media figures like Pat McAfee and Charles Barkley.
Another theme to their guests is family. The hosts’ parents, Ed Kelce and Donna Kelce, appeared on an episode in February 2023 before the brothers faced off in Super Bowl LVII.
Jason’s wife, Kylie Kelce — who has since launched her own podcast, “Not Gonna Lie with Kylie Kelce” — also appeared in an episode that is their most-watched on YouTube with over 8 million views.
Based on initial fan reactions, two big names with connections to the Kelces stand out as possibilities for the guest the fans have been “demanding”: Travis’ girlfriend Taylor Swift and WNBA star Caitlin Clark.
“Oh it’s definitely Caitlin!” wrote a reply to the teaser from the show on X.
“Based on his face in video we will know who it is …. but my money is on Caitlin though,” said another fan.
“TS herself or CC22 please,” echoed a quote post.
The overwhelming majority of responses dialed in on the Indiana Fever star. Clark would make an ideal guest as she is in the WNBA offseason and is a well-known Kansas City Chiefs fan.
The “New Heights” fan base, admittedly comprised of many Swifties, seemed to agree that getting Swift to go on the show is a reach. The “Eras Tour” performer has a minimal history of going on podcasts, with the closest example being her sit-down with Apple Music’s Zane Lowe in 2020.
Swift and Kelce fans don’t want to rule out the possibility of the “Bad Blood” singer joining the “New Heights” universe, but an episode with Clark would still mark a collaboration between some of the most popular figures in sports to start off 2025.
