Deion Sanders Has 6-Word Response To Dallas Cowboys Coaching Rumors
Over the past 24 hours, Deion Sanders has been mentioned as the top coaching candidate for the Dallas Cowboys. Of course, that’s if they move on from Mike McCarthy in the offseason.
Sanders is currently in his second year as the head coach of the Colorado Buffaloes. His program is currently No. 17 in the College Football Playoff rankings due to its impressive 7-2 record. Last weekend, Colorado defeated Texas Tech by 14 points on the road. Shedeur Sanders had 291 passing yards and three touchdowns.
On Tuesday night, Sanders made an appearance on FS1’s “Speak.” While on the show, Cowboys legend Michael Irvin asked him if he’d be willing to coach his former team.
“No place needs people to encourage people to be better than they really are besides Jerry Jones and the Dallas Cowboys,” Irvin said.
Sanders seemed flattered by his former teammate’s comment, but he doesn’t plan on leaving Colorado.
“I got to show you where I am,” Sanders said before showing a view of his office at Folsom Field. “I love it where I am.”
Sanders has stated in the past that he doesn’t want to coach an NFL team. So far, he’s staying true to his word.
“I don’t have any desire or ambition to coach in the NFL,” Sanders said in 2023. “I have a problem with men getting their checks and not doing their jobs. I would be too tough as a coach in the NFL because I still have those old-school attributes.”

Money talks, make no mistake about it. If the Cowboys make Sanders a lucrative offer, he’ll have to at least consider it.
For now though, Sanders is focused on leading Colorado to a Big 12 title. That’s a real possibility at this point in the season.
