The Stars currently rank 7th in the overall NHL standings, with a total of 55 points in 41 games, and they are in a strong position to make the playoffs this season.
The Canadiens currently rank 18th in the overall NHL standings, with a total of 44 points in 42 games. They are in the thick of the playoff race – two points behind the Columbus Blue Jackets, but with a game in hand (as well as three games in hand on the Boston Bruins).
