In a way, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Milwaukee Bucks have been overlook for the past few season. However, a recent survey appeared to rub more salt in the wound by throwing some serious disrespect towards the Greek Freak’s way.

In the 2024-25 NBA GM Survey, Nikola Jokic of the Denver Nuggets has once again been recognized as the best international player in the league, earning a remarkable 87% of the votes from general managers. Jokic’s unique skill set, which combines exceptional passing ability with scoring and rebounding, has not only redefined the center position but also elevated the Nuggets to championship contention.

The Serbian star’s impact on the game extends beyond individual statistics; he possesses an uncanny ability to read defenses and create opportunities for teammates. His vision on the court allows him to execute plays that others might not even consider, making him a pivotal asset for Denver.
The survey also highlighted other notable international talents, including Luka Doncic, who received 10% of the votes, showcasing the depth of international talent in the NBA.
However, Jokic’s consistent performance and leadership have solidified his status at the top. As he continues to develop his game, fans and analysts alike eagerly anticipate how he will influence the upcoming season, aiming to lead the Nuggets to another deep playoff run. Jokic’s blend of skill, intelligence, and creativity cements his place as a standout figure in the league.
NBA GMs Survey Throws Massive Disrespect Towards Milwaukee Bucks Star Giannis Antetokounmpo’s Way

While Jokic and Doncic dominated that category, Antetokounmpo was strangely not included in the list. This was emphasized in an article by Franco Luna for Behind the Buck Pass.
“In fact, the snub becomes even more baffling when you consider that the same general managers still voted Antetokounmpo as the league’s best power forward. To place the rookie Wembanyama over the two-time MVP is nothing short of erasure.
At the end of the day, the message is clear, and this snub is not only a personal insult to Antetokounmpo but also a reflection of the league’s tendency to overlook players who don’t fit the traditional mold,” Luna wrote.
Antetokounmpo, despite his impressive accolades and two MVP awards, continues to face unwarranted criticism and disrespect. Recent surveys have ranked Jokic and Doncic as the top international players, totally leaving Antetokounmpo’s substantial contributions off the table. This trend reflects a broader issue in the league, where players who don’t fit conventional narratives are often undervalued.

As the Bucks gear up for the season, Antetokounmpo’s determination to prove his critics wrong may lead to another remarkable year. His resilience and talent suggest that he will rise above the scrutiny and continue to shine on the court.
