Justin Timberlake Trying to ‘Heal’ Relationship With Wife Jessica Biel After Singer’s DWI Arrest
Justin Timberlake is doing all he can to stay on Jessica Biel’s good side, but finding some areas of the marriage an uphill struggle right now – especially when it comes to their love life, a source exclusively tells In Touch.
“Just because Justin is committed to the marriage, it doesn’t mean Jessica’s not still struggling with a lot of trust issues. It’s going to take a while for them to get their sizzle back because she’s still very wary of him.”
The “SexyBack” singer, 43, was arrested in Sag Harbor, New York, on June 18 for driving while intoxicated after the pop star refused breathalyzer test following a night out in the town’s American Hotel. He pleaded guilty to the lesser charge of driving while ability impaired in September, which came with a $500 fine and 25 hours of community service.
The scandal made headlines across the country, which a different source told People Jessica, 42, was “not happy about,” considering she “enjoys privacy.”
That insider also said the “Mirrors” musician has been “doing everything he can” to “make up for” the embarrassing incident.
The upsetting turn of events has shocked the 7th Heaven alum, and the first source says, “The fact is, Justin isn’t back to normal, either.”
“He’s still very tightly wound and stressed over what happened. Even if he’s on his best behavior, there’s a kind of an awkwardness and attention around him that doesn’t really make for very romantic, sexy nights together.”
The “Say Something” singer and his actress wife were first linked in 2007. They briefly split in 2011 before getting back together and engaged in December of the same year. They tied the knot in October 2012, eventually welcoming two children: Silas, 9, and Phineas, 4.

With the arrest looming over their marriage, the insider tells that, “He’s tired a lot, as well, because the tour is taking a lot out of him. They tried to do a big romantic date night for their 12th anniversary – she went to visit him in Montreal on tour and there were very big expectations. But apparently it fell a little flat because a lot of emotional issues came up. It wasn’t the carefree, sexy fun night he was banking on.”
It’s not the first time Justin’s drinking has hurt their relationship. Back in November 2019, footage of the Friends with Benefits star surfaced that appeared to show him holding hands with Alisha Wainwright, his costar on the film they were shooting at the time, Palmer. Another photo also appeared to depict Alisha, 35, resting her hand on his thigh.
The pop star apologized publicly to his wife, writing, “A few weeks ago I displayed a strong lapse in judgment — but let me be clear — nothing happened between me and my costar. I drank way too much that night and I regret my behavior. I should have known better.”
The source acknowledges that, “He’s got more work to put in to heal their relationship before they can get back to what they once had and prove that he’s grown from this and is genuinely someone she can 100 percent trust.”
