Miranda Lambert is no stranger to controversy—and appears to have no shame when she finds herself embroiled in one—so it’s no surprise to see her facing “mean tweets” head-on after joining Morgan Wallen’s upcoming tour.
The “Mama’s Broken Heart” songstress took to Instagram on Tuesday, Feb. 4, with her take on Jimmy Kimmel’s “Celebrities Read Mean Tweets” segment, scrolling through her phone while having her makeup done and sharing some of the less enthusiastic responses to the news that she was joining her fellow embattled country star on the road.
“I’ll pass. I was the biggest Miranda fan,” one commenter put it bluntly, while another wrote, “Hmm, Team Miranda forever, but this comes as a shock. This ain’t it, Sis.”
“I’m so disappointed in both of you,” another comment read, making the country crooner laugh as she continued, “May God forgive you both.”
“We’re really doing bad on this tour, Morgan,” she interjected before moving on to the next.
“Miranda, you’re just clinging to something popular so you can try to stay relevant,” another critic seethed, while other “mean tweets” were a little more positive toward the singer.
“You are not a side dish, you’re a main course,” one kinder comment read, causing the others in the room to agree, “That’s true!”
“Girl, you can do better than this,” the comment continued.
“I’m so confused why you haven’t been Entertainer of the Year the last several years,” another comment began, with Lambert correcting, “Well I was once,” referring to her win in 2022.
“I’m further confused about why you’d be opening for anyone. You should be the headliner. What’s going on?!?” the comment continued, with someone off-camera once again interjecting, “That’s actually true!”
“It’s not wrong, but it’s not right,” Lambert replied.
Another more tame complaint read, “WTF, I don’t see Texas on here,” which Lambert agreed “sucks” as she’s not playing on Wallen’s stops in the Southwest.
“I appreciate that y’all aren’t afraid to hold back 😂,” she quipped in the caption of the post, which delighted her dedicated fans, who begged her to make it a regular segment.
“Can we make this a regular feature? Mean tweets by Miranda?” they requested.
