Patrick and Brittany Mahomes reportedly want Travis Kelce and Taylor Swift to be the godparents for their new baby.

According to The Sun, the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and his wife have Travis and Taylor as the first choice ahead of the arrival of their third child, a girl, early in the new year.

‘Patrick and Brittany love to spend time with Travis and Taylor. They see them as the best people to be the godfather and godmother of the next child,’ the publication quoted a source as saying.

Patrick and Brittany’s two young children, Sterling and Bronze, are said to be fond of the power couple – something which helped the Mahomes family reach the decision.

It comes after Patrick recently revealed that Swift had been baking cakes with his daughter, Sterling.

The source said: ‘The kids love Travis and call him “Uncle Travis”. Taylor is already considered their auntie, too. She is so sweet with them, and they love her.’

Patrick recently said of his daughter spending time with Taylor: ‘She (Swift) has never made something for me but she’s made different treats that have been around my house — muffins and donuts and stuff like that.

‘Sterling’s a big baker as well, so they make some stuff together sometimes. I’m not gonna say I don’t eat them.’

The news comes amid fears of a fallout between Taylor and Brittany due to the latter’s public support of Donald Trump at next month’s election – a view at odds with Swift who has publicly backed Kamala Harris.

Taylor and Brittany have not sat together as often at Chiefs games this season – they appeared to be inseparable last year- but the couples did head to New York together for the men’s US Open final in September.

But Swift was recently tagged in a picture with her hand on Mahomes’ baby bump after watching the Chiefs beat New Orleans Saints on October 7.

‘They love the fact that they share many of the same values, even if they can have different opinions on some topics,’ the source added.

‘They are more than friends, they are family members which is the most important thing of all.’

Swift and Kelce were also joined by Patrick and Brittany at the singer’s Rhode Island mansion back in August once the singer returned from her four-month tour of Europe.

On the football field, Kelce and Mahomes have helped the Chiefs to an unbeaten 6-0 start to the season in pursuit of an unprecedented third straight Super Bowl title.

This Sunday, they face the Raiders in Las Vegas looking to extend that winning run, with DeAndre Hopkins set to play his first game for the Chiefs after this week’s trade from Tennessee Titans.

Swift will not be at the game – she is on the final leg of her Eras Tour and performing in New Orleans all weekend.
