Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni and defensive end Josh Sweat were caught having an odd interaction on the sideline during the fourth quarter of Sunday’s win over the Cincinnati Bengals.
The Eagles have improved to 5-2 after a shaky start to the season, having convincingly beaten Joe Burrow and the Bengals 37-17.
With the win all but settled nearing the end of the game, Sirianni was shown fiddling with Sweat’s helmet. The player did not look pleased.
Check it out in the video below:
“I also saw this? Whats with the players disrespect on this team? I happened to also see Jalen Hurts few weeks ago look completely disengaged while Nick talked to him. Odd vibes,” a user wrote in the comments.
“I said same thing. Told my wife his own players don’t like him. It’s weird,” someone else noted.
“Sirianni doesn’t know how the new chinstraps work lol. Not that he should be doing it anyway,” another fan joked.
Other users pointed out that the HC did not want his starters to return to the game and risk injury, which Sweat was unhappy about.
“Sirianni didn’t want the starters on the field anymore and sweat wanted to go back in. Pretty simple to see yet yall wanna feed into some bs,” someone said.
“Worried about the wrong stuff.. they won a game and y’all trying to create a headline. Do better,” another added.
Nick Sirianni Coached A Fourth Quarter Masterclass After Watching His Team Struggle In The First Quarter
The Bengals jumped out in front off a touchdown throw from Josh Allen in the fourth quarter, which the Eagles failed to respond to until the second period, with Jalen Hurts running one in to tie scores at 10-10 following field goals from both sides.
The third quarter saw a bit of a back-and-forth, with Hurts scoring another TD and throwing a 45-yard touchdown pass to DeVonta Smith before Chase Brown tied things up with a short run.
The Eagles took over in the fourth quarter as Hurts rushed for another score, and additional field goals were scored.
The win sees the Eagles improve to 5-2 while the Bengals have dropped to 3-5 as they continue to search for their first home win of the season.
