After many notable years at Majors, Novak Djokovic did not lift a notable trophy in 2024. The 24-time Major champion is alone at the top, leaving Rafael Nadal at 22 following a stellar performance in 2023.
Despite that, Djokovic is eager to fight for the 25th Major crown in 2025, focusing on four most notable tournaments in the season ahead of us. Lorenzo Musetti, who knows how to challenge Novak on the big stage, is confident about the Serb’s chances in 2025.
Musetti backed Djokovic to challenge Jannik Sinner, Carlos Alcaraz and Alexander Zverev for the Major titles this year. Lorenzo does not want to write the veteran off, especially if he plays injury-free.
Besides Novak’s skills, the Italian highlighted his experience on the most significant scene, an important ingredient for a success! One thing is sure! No one will take Djokovic for granted, not after everything he has achieved in Melbourne, Paris, London and New York.
The Serb had a brilliant run in 2023, winning three Major titles from four finals and terminating the GOAT race! Novak conquered the Australian Open, Roland Garros and the US Open while losing the Wimbledon final to Carlos Alcaraz.
Djokovic reached the semi-final in Melbourne last year. He faced Jannik Sinner and fell in four sets, suffering his first Melbourne defeat after passing the quarter-final stage. Novak could not defend the Roland Garros trophy.

Novak faced Lorenzo in the semi-final and notched a 6-4, 7-6, 6-4 triumph before falling to Carlos Alcaraz in the title clash. The Serb threw everything at the Olympic Games in Paris, seeking an elusive gold medal.
Djokovic defeated six rivals in straight sets, winning the tournament and writing history books. Musetti and Alcaraz were again on his path, and no one could stop the greatest player of all time!

Novak felt no motivation at the US Open, falling to Alexei Popyrin and finishing the year without a Major crown. The Serb is hungry for more good run at Majors in 2025, hoping to count 25 or even beyond!
“If he is physically fine, Novak will always be a contender at Majors. He is a danger to the rivals from the top – Jannik Sinner, Alexander Zverev and Carlos Alcaraz. Last year, Jannik was a step in front of anyone; he had an incredible season. However, Novak is always dangerous after knowing very well how to compete on the most notable courts,” Lorenzo Musetti said.
