Patrick Mahomes admits he may have sparked a “feud” with wife Brittany over his plans for the Kansas City Chiefs’ bye week.

The two-time MVP quarterback was seen at the Kansas City Royals playoff game on Wednesday, cheering on his adopted home as they took on the New York Yankees in Game 3 of the ALDS. Mahomes had already spoken about his fall baseball plans after the Chiefs beat the New Orleans Saints on Monday Night Football, admitting that his wife was ready to use the bye week for a vacation instead.

“It’s bye week, so Brittany’s vacationing and me getting to the Royals game, we’ll feud for sure,” Mahomes said, via The Daily Mail.

Mahomes skipped the start of the vacation and was treated to a thriller. The Royals rallied to tie the game at 2-2 in the fifth inning, leading to a viral moment for Mahomes as he shouted in celebration, but the Yankees came through with an eighth-inning homer from Giancarlo Stanton to win 3-2 and take a two games to one lead in the series.

Patrick Mahomes may have to put the vacation plans on hold for at least a little longer. The Royals host the Yankees again on Thursday night, needing a win to extend the series and head back to the Bronx for a winner-take-all Game 5 on Saturday.
