TVA Sports journalist Renaud Lavoie has just made an intriguing statement regarding a possible reassignment of the Montreal Canadiens to the Laval Rocket.

He is referring to the potential reassignment of Lane Hutson to the AHL to start the 2024-2025 season.

This would be quite a surprise, especially considering his recent performances and the recent comments from key figures of the Canadiens. Nevertheless, the TVA Sports journalist still believes that it wouldn’t be the end of the world if Hutson is sent to Laval.

Lane Hutson with the Laval Rocket to start the season? A possibility not to be overlooked

The player everyone in the Montreal Canadiens organization is talking about right now seems truly ready for the NHL.

He has the vision, the hands, the intelligence, and certainly the skills to help Martin St-Louis’ squad this fall.

However, despite all of this, Renaud Lavoie wanted to set the record straight.

As also reported by the site DansLesCoulisses, Lavoie explained that Hutson still has a lot to improve on, and he wouldn’t be surprised if he spends time in Laval this season.

He wants to make it clear that it wouldn’t be the end of the world if Hutson joins the Rocket, especially if it’s to improve his game in the defensive zone.

Personally, I believe that for a player with elite intelligence like Lane Hutson, playing in the AHL might not be the best for his development, but I fully trust Kent Hughes and Jeff Gorton on this one.

They know what they’re doing, and they will make the right decision.

And you, what would you do with Lane Hutson? He was compared to a certain Quinn Hughes yesterday, so it’s definitely exciting.

At 20 years old, Hutson is a 5-foot-10, 165-pound left-handed defenseman. He scored two points in two games last season with the Canadiens (NHL) and recorded 49 points in 38 games with Boston University (NCAA).

A name to watch in the coming weeks!
