The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is getting a schedule adjustment.
The NBC talk show hosted by Fallon, 49, will no longer air new episodes five nights a week, as per Entertainment Weekly. Instead, they will air repeats on Fridays with new episodes on Mondays through Thursdays.
PEOPLE reached out to The Tonight Show for comment.
This programming shake-up isn’t unheard of in the late-night world as other talk shows have already shifted to this schedule.
ABC’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! has been airing four new episodes per week — and Kimmel also takes summers off. CBS staple Late Show with Stephen Colbert also airs four new episodes each week, along with NBC’s Late Night with Seth Meyers and Comedy Central’s The Daily Show.
The Hollywood Reporter cites evolving viewer habits as a reasona for changes in late-night show scheduling and budgets.
The comedian took over the talk show from Jay Leno in 2014. Fallon previously hosted Late Night with Jimmy Fallon from 2009 until 2014.

Fallon’s contract was renewed in June for the show to air through 2028.
“For nearly 30 years, I’ve brought laughter into the homes of millions and charmed audiences from the stages of 30 Rock,” he said in a statement at the time.
“It’s been a privilege to be at the helm of theThe Tonight Show, and I’m thrilled to see what innovations me and the incredible staff will deliver in the years to come at the network. No, I’m not changing my quote. Tell Mark to change his,” he said, echoing NBC Universal’s Mark Lazarus sentiment.
When Fallon isn’t making new episodes, he’s spending time with his kids.
Fallon, who is father to daughters Winnie, 11, and Frances, 9, spoke to PEOPLE in August about his kids going back to school. “I don’t want [them] to go to school,” Fallon joked. “I don’t want them to meet other people. I don’t want them to do anything. I just want them to hang out with us for the rest of their life.”
He then said that Winnie and Frances “love their school” and their friends. “And it’s another little chapter in their lives and another fun adventure.”
The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. ET on NBC.
