‘The Voice’ Knockout Round Spoilers: Country Singer Quits, Who’s Advancing to the Playoffs?

The Voice' contestant Tanner Frick unexpectedly leaves show

The Voice is back with a brand-new episode Tuesday night (Nov. 11.) Tonight saw the second episode of the three-way Knockout Rounds, where artists compete against two other team members by performing a song of their choice. Their coach can choose only winner to move forward to the next round. However, that doesn’t necessarily mean the end of the road for the losers, as each coach also gets one Save and one Steal. Here’s everything you need to know after the first session of Knockout Rounds.

Country Artist Shocks ‘The Voice’ Viewers With Early Exit

At this point on season 26 of The Voice, every artist knows each performance could be their last. However, not many contestants leave the competition voluntarily—but that’s exactly what Tanner Frick did.

Viewers were flabbergasted to hear host Carson Daly tell coach Michael Bublé that Frick had exited the show after rehearsals. That left only a two-way Knockout between Cameron Wright and Sloane Simon. After declaring Wright the winner, Bublé used his Save on Simon.

Frick offered only a cryptic five-word social media post by way of explanation for his departure. “Ain’t nobody want me anyway…” wrote the 26-year-old Brandon, Mississippi native.

It’s unclear what Frick is referencing. However, the four chair-turn performer was originally on Reba McEntire’s team until the defending champ chose his opponent, Tate Renner, during the Nov. 4 Battle Rounds. Bublé then used his final Steal on the Manchester, Tennessee-based artist.

Who Will We See in the Playoffs?

Following Tanner Frick’s unexpected departure, first-time coach Michael Bublé heads into the Live Playoffs with 13-year-old Jaukeem Fortson, Cameron Wright, and Sloane Simon, and Shye.

Snoop Dogg managed to hold onto both Austyns Stancil and Christina Eagle after using his Save on Eagle. Meanwhile, Gwen Stefani snatched up country singer Jake Tankersley from the “Gin and Juice” rapper’s team. Tankersley joins Camryn Brooks, Jose Luis, and Gabrielle Zabrosky, who beat out Felsmere and Kay Sibal.

Adam Bohanan and Katie O advanced for Team Reba. The “Fancy” singer also added Edward Preble after stealing him from Team Bublé.
