With the 79th NBA regular season approaching, various narratives and hypothetical scenarios are emerging as topics for discussion. An imaginary tarde garnered fans’ attention, which moved Los Angeles Lakers star forward LeBron James to the San Antonio Spurs for rising center Victor Wembanyama.
In a post that went viral on Instagram, a basketball page asked its fans about a hypothetical trade between the Lakers and the Spurs. In the trade, four-time NBA champion LeBron, guards D’Angelo Russell and Austin Reaves, and a 2026 first-round pick would be sent to San Antonio.
On the other hand, the Lakers would get the Spurs youngsters’ duo of Victor Wembanyama and Jeremy Sochan. While the 7-foot-4 French center had a spectacular 2023-24 season, winning the Rookie of the Year and Blocks Leader honors, the 21-year-old forward registered his career-best numbers last season.

The prospect of James joining the Spurs or any other NBA team in the upcoming season seems unfeasible. James will continue with the Lakers after the Purple and Gold drafted his son, Bronny James, this year. LeBron and Bronny hold a chance to become the first father-son duo to play together in the NBA.
Many NBA fans were hoping for a blockbuster summer trade to unite the league’s all-time scoring leader, LeBron James, with Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry. However, Curry signed a one-year contract extension with the Golden State Warriors until 2027, and LeBron preferred to play with his son.
