“Oh, It’s More Than a Rumor”: Zach Top Jokingly Breaks Silence About Theory He Is Alan Jackson’s Son

Zach Top: Country Singer on 'I Never Lie', CMA Awards and TikTok

Last month, a radio show host pointed out how similar Alan Jackson and Zach Top look. He did so while laying how the insane possibility that Top could be the “Chattahoochee” singer’s long-lost illegitimate son. The rumor/conspiracy theory has been floating around the internet for weeks with many fans getting big laughs from it while quietly wondering “What if.” Top is finally breaking his silence about it.

Recently, Zach Top appeared on Audacy’s Rob and Hollie to talk about his current headlining tour and his spot on Jackson’s forthcoming outing. During the conversation, he joked with the show’s hosts about the possibility of being Jackson’s son.

Zach Top Addresses the Alan Jackson Rumor

“There’s a rumor that you’re Alan Jackson’s son,” Rob began. “Oh, it’s more than a rumor,” Zach Top said, prompting laughs from both hosts. “Hell, I’ve been trying to figure out what the answer is. My parents won’t answer me straight up. Nobody will,” he said.

However, Top knows how he will get to the bottom of the rumors. “I think the only way I’m gonna get a straight answer is in Fort Worth when I finally meet him when we do that first show in a few weeks,” Top said. “I’m just gonna go up and say, ‘Hi, daddy. I missed you,’” the “Beer for Breakfast” singer joked. “We’ll see how he reacts and I’ll know whether it’s true or not.”

Jackson is one of Top’s musical heroes. So, he didn’t want the “Midnight in Montgomery” singer to think he was throwing any kind of shade his way. “Sorry, Alan, if this is disrespectful and you see this. I love you and I respect you. We’re just having fun,” he said, addressing Jackson.

While Top said he doesn’t believe that Jackson spends much time on social media, he has to know about the rumors. “Surely somebody in his camp has, like, made him aware that this is a thing,” Top said. “I hope we can do something funny on his tour where we kind of acknowledge it,” he added.
