Toronto Maple Leafs enforcer Ryan Reaves got into some trouble last night as he delivered a huge hit on Darnell Nurse during a win against the Edmonton Oilers.

This hit got Reaves knocked out of the game and it is easy to see why. After all, it was a hit to the head that led to a whole lot of blood being spilled.

If you want to see how this hit went down, you can find it down below.

After the game, it was revealed that Reaves would have to have a disciplinary hearing with the Department of Player Safety. He should get less than five games.

However, it was reported by Elliotte Friedman that Reaves attempted to apologize to Nurse.

Furthermore, it was noted that while there is no solid diagnosis on Nurse, he appeared to be in good spirits.

So much so that he was joking around with the team’s medical staff.

Darnell Nurse gets an apology from Ryan Reaves

“No postgame update on Darnell Nurse; have to see how things evolve over next few days.

He was walking around and joking with trainers, per @EdmontonJack”

Hopefully, Nurse is able to recover quickly. You never want to see a player go through something difficult like this.

As for Reaves, he has always towed the line when it comes to physicality and it should come as no surprise that he would be involved in an incident like this one.

In terms of the actual game itself, the Maple Leafs were able to squeak out a win in overtime. The winning goal came off of the stick of Mitch Marner.

With the win, the Maple Leafs are now 11-6-2 on the season and have won five of their last six.
