To mark its impending return, the BBC has shared the launch trailer for the upcoming 22nd run of the dance show which will get audiences excited for its much-anticipated return this month.

It officially airs on Wednesday (September 4) at 19.29 on BBC One, however, a glimpse has already been shared on social media and in a bunch of pre-released pictures.

The trailer sees the show’s talented group of professional dancers perform a fun footwork bonanza encouraging everyone to get aboard the Strictly bus.

Which will officially open the doors to the 22nd series of Strictly with a sparkly, showstopping bang later this month.

Choreographed by creative director Jason Gilkison, the trailer and launch show number that will be performed in the iconic ballroom is set to is a magical medley of pop and other well-known hits.

The songs included are: We Like To Party! (The Vengabus) by Vengaboys , Baby Baby by Corona, Pump Up The Jam + Get Up (Before The Night Is Over) by Technotronic, Absolutely Everybody by Vanessa Amarosi, Get Ready For This by 2 Unlimited, Saturday Night by Whigfield, Ooh Ahh (Just A Little Bit) by Gina G and 5,6,7,8 + Stomp by Steps.

Sharing the clip on social media, Strictly said: “The Strictly bus is coming. Watch #Strictly on #iPlayer from 14 September.” And the stars of the show were quick to respond and share their excitement.

Head judge Shirley Ballas quipped: “I got my ticket .. is the bus stopping by my house?” Fellow judge Motsi Mabuse joked: “I am running lol left my ticket at home …… got it now.”

Gorka Marquez said: “We’re back!!!” Carlos Gu commented: “We like to party.” Jowita Przystał cheered: “Let’s goooo!!!!”

But what fans may not notice is that Sir Bruce Forsyth is still very much part of the much-loved programme. In the new trailer, the ‘bus’ the professional dancers board is the ‘Bruice bus’ with ‘Bruice’ making up the fake number plate.

The original co-host of Strictly alongside Tess Daly, the adored entertainer stepped down from presenting duties at the close of the 2013 series and he later died in 2017, aged 89.
